Great Smoky Mountains 2015

Our last weekend before the kids started school we spent camping in the Great Smoky Mountains.  It is just a few hours away from us and is a beautiful place to explore and enjoy with the family.  We camped at the Cosby campground on the northeastern side of the park.  It was a good choice, not too busy or crowded.

We were kind of tired after the beach house so we had a simple 4th of July, going to the downtown parade with the kids then taking them home and putting them to bed before fireworks.  We'll let them stay up another year when they're not so tired. 

Wei Beach House Summer 2015

It's been a while since we were able to go to the OBX with the Wei family - since before we had kids in fact.  So it was so fun that we were able to join everyone this time and share this tradition with the kids! The OBX is not as tropical or exotic as the beaches in Hawaii but they are still beautiful and I love them maybe even more because of the wonderful memories I have there.

June 2015 Part 2 more hiking and camping

We took a family hike to Hanging Rock State Park and explored the waterfalls and pools.  It was very fun and beautiful!

Been enjoying the warm weather a lot this month by eating lunch outside.  This girlie always has to put one foot up!

Fiddlers and Easter 2015

We went to an Old Time Fiddlers Dance in Surry, NC that we heard about through our local clogging group one Friday night and had a lot of fun!  Elijah and Betty especially enjoyed it.  They were the stars of the dance floor.

 I'm trying to actually get ahead of time and made Betty's Easter dress early this year.  Now to make Cora's which takes much more fabric and time.  

Betty turns 1!

Always cracks me up when babies fall asleep in the high chair.  Just so sleepy!

February 2015 part 2

Betty got an early birthday present we brought home from Ikea in Charlotte - a little walker wagon.  She does like to walk along with it but not as much as she likes to sit in it.
