ruffled butts, old friends, sundown and summer toes

just added the ruffles last night for fun and practice working with gatheringfinally got together with my old friend Jenny and saw her new baby - actually not so new anymore, she's the same age as Cora! Cora and Gwen are going to be good little friends. They even look alike, cute little brown-eyed bottom of the chart babies.we get the best sunsets just right outside our house.I know, she's just a baby. but she doesn't eat her toes anymore and it's just so cute! (of course the big hulking feet aren't so attractive, but they just make the little ones all the cuter) also notice the adorable chubby knees! i just love them

pics from wei reunion

Before we got to the cabin, we stopped for a night in Colorado Springs at my mom's uncle's house. Uncle Leland is my Grandma Bonser's baby brother. My grandma is the one in top right of the picture.
Jackie and Leland had a dog, who Cora was very interested in. This was her first encounter up close with a dog.
Leland sharing family history.
Papa's so comfy.
Cora liked the worm about as much as I did. Interesting at first, but then pretty yucky. But I didn't break mine in two.
All the grandkids - Ethan, Jacob, Gabriel, Alex or Zach, the other one, Ben, Cora.

I predict a riot

Already Cora has matched her mother in dancing skills - watch her rock out to the Kaiser Chiefs. Notice the nice new rugs - so much softer than our carpet. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!

Hot dogs and s'moreeseos

Papa Doug
Ryan's parents stopped by last night in between visiting Utah and Boise. We headed up to show them our Pocatello mountains and had a really fun little cookout. After dinner we made s'mores with Oreos instead of graham crackers and Reese's for the chocolate. So good. We had a great visit and can't wait to see them more in two weeks after Ryan's finals and Dad's boards when we can really party!

catching up

Well a lot has happened since our last post. We spent a day in Boise where Cora met her Grandma Madelyn and Grandpa Doug and Uncle Johnny for the first time. This is Cora when Ryan and I were trying to get ready to leave - we took too long to get out of the house. Tried to keep her awake so she could sleep in the car, but even eating baby cereal puffs couldn't do it - she fell asleep as soon as my back was turned.

Two sleepyheads, Cora and John.

On Sunday Cora and I flew to Denver, where we met my parents and we all drove to a cabin in New Mexico for a few days. I left the picture taking up to my dad, and he took a lot, but I'll have to post them later since I haven't gotten copies yet. Cora had a lot of fun with all of my family, playing with her cousins and aunts and uncles. She did a lot of exciting things, like going fishing, playing with a worm, meeting a dog, getting two new teeth, and eating a whole slice of watermelon! The traveling, however, she didn't like so much. Especially the part in the car, where her mommy was sitting right next to her but refused to pick her up!

On Thursday, Cora and I flew back to SLC and Ryan picked us up and we drove down to Beaver, UT, his birthplace. Cora was so excited to see her daddy at the airport, she got a big smile on her face and just kept laughing and clapping. We stayed in a beautiful cabin/mountain house in the Beaver mountains with Ryan's parents and brothers.

The house was beautiful, although we had a couple of little mousy visitors that gave us a scare. We saw probably about 50 deer, and three elk, along the way up the mountain, the few times we drove back and forth from town. Cora had a lot of fun with all the kids again, and was admired and passed around by all the extended family, Ryan's aunts and uncles and cousins. She also got to meet Great-Grandma and Grandpa Nielson for the first time, and they just loved her.

On the 3rd Ryan and Cora went fishing at Puffer Lake. Here she is with Grandpa Doug.

We spent the 4th in Minersville and Beaver. We went to the Minersville parade, pragram and roast beast dinner. It was also Minersville's 150th birthday, so the parade and program were extra special. That night we had a nice family reunion barbeque with the Hollingsheads, with 8 out of the 10 Hollingshead siblings there. We finished up the day by watching the fireworks in DC on tv, and having a country dance party with Cora, Kaimana and Ikaika.
